How to Connect Beehiiv

ACS connects to Beehiiv using its API to automatically publish newsletters and sync subscriber engagement analytics. Once connected, your ACS-generated newsletters are published directly to your Beehiiv publication.

Prerequisites

• A Beehiiv account with API access (Scale plan or higher)
• Your Beehiiv API key and Publication ID

Step 1: Get Your Beehiiv API Key

1. Log into Beehiiv and go to Settings → Integrations → API
2. Generate a new API key if one does not exist
3. Copy the key — it is only shown once

Step 2: Find Your Publication ID

1. In Beehiiv, go to Settings → General
2. Your Publication ID is listed on this page (format: pub_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
3. Copy this value

Step 3: Connect in ACS

1. In ACS, go to Settings → Integrations
2. Under Publishing Destinations, click Set Up for your Newsletter channel
3. Select Beehiiv from the provider list
4. Enter your API Key and Publication ID
5. Click Connect

ACS will verify your credentials and immediately begin an analytics backfill in the background.

Analytics Backfill

When you first connect Beehiiv, ACS retrieves your historical send metrics automatically. This process runs in the background and may take a few minutes depending on your publication history. Backfilled data will appear in your Analytics dashboard once complete.

Publishing Behavior

ACS publishes to Beehiiv as a draft post by default, allowing you to review before sending. To configure auto-send or draft behavior, go to Settings → Platforms → Newsletter.

Disconnecting Beehiiv

Go to Settings → Integrations → Newsletter → Edit and remove your Beehiiv credentials. This stops publishing and analytics syncing but does not affect your Beehiiv account or subscriber list.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid API key" error Double-check the full API key was copied without extra whitespace. If you have regenerated the key in Beehiiv since connecting, update it in ACS.

Content not appearing in Beehiiv Confirm the Newsletter channel is enabled in Settings → Platforms and that your publishing destination is set to Beehiiv.

Analytics not syncing Verify the connection is still active under Settings → Integrations. If Beehiiv regenerates your API key, you will need to re-enter it.
