How to Connect Twitter / X

Connect your Twitter/X account to ACS via OAuth to automate tweet publishing and pull engagement analytics.

Updated April 8, 2026

Connecting Twitter/X lets ACS publish tweets and threads automatically and pulls engagement analytics directly into your dashboards. The connection uses OAuth — no passwords stored, and access can be revoked at any time.

What You'll Get

  • Automated publishing of tweets and multi-part threads to your Twitter/X account
  • Weekly analytics sync: impressions, engagements, likes, reposts, and link clicks
  • Performance data integrated into your ACS Analytics dashboard for cross-platform comparison

Prerequisites

  • An active Twitter/X account
  • An ACS subscription with Twitter/X enabled as a publishing channel

Connecting Twitter / X

Step 1: Open Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations. Under Connected Accounts, find the Twitter / X card.

Step 2: Click Connect

Click Connect to open the connection modal.

Step 3: Authorize via OAuth

Select Connect with Twitter/X (OAuth). You will be redirected to Twitter/X's authorization page. Review and accept the requested permissions:

  • Post tweets on your behalf
  • Read your account and analytics data

Click Authorize app to return to ACS.

Step 4: Confirm the Connection

The Twitter/X card will show Connected with your @handle displayed. ACS can now publish and retrieve analytics on your behalf.

Thread Publishing

ACS supports publishing long-form content as Twitter threads. When a campaign generates thread-format content, ACS posts each segment as a sequential reply, creating a properly chained thread on your profile automatically.

Publishing Behavior

Configure Twitter/X publishing under Settings → Platforms → Twitter/X:

  • Posts per week
  • Preferred publishing days
  • Post types (single tweet, thread)
  • Approval required before posting

Disconnecting Twitter / X

From ACS: Go to Settings → Integrations → Twitter/X → Disconnect.

From Twitter/X: Go to Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions and revoke Adaptive Content System.

Troubleshooting

Authorization failed Confirm you are logged into the correct Twitter/X account. Developer accounts with restricted API access may have limited functionality.

Rate limit errors Twitter/X enforces posting limits. ACS respects these limits automatically and will queue or retry posts as needed.

Analytics not syncing Analytics are pulled on a weekly cycle. Ensure the connection is still active under Settings → Integrations.
